The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind is an inspiring biography/autobiography that teaches about the power of perseverance and hard work. William Kamkwamba is a fourteen-year-old boy who lives in Malawi, a small village in Africa. When a severe drought hits and the village’s crops begin to fail, William’s family can no longer grow or sell their crops. Without an income, William is forced to drop out of school. Instead of giving up, William is dedicated to his studies and spends his days in the library. Eventually, he figures out a way to bring electricity to his village, allowing the people to grow their crops once more! What did William invent? Read this true story to find out!
